France, c. 1800
A fine late 18th century mahogany Tric Trac table veneered throughout in highly figured flame mahogany, retaining the original leather writing surface and opening to a ebony and bone tric trac / backgammon playing surface. The whole raised on tapering legs terminating with brass feet.
When not in use, the table simply covers up and becomes a writing desk, the other side of the lid is a card playing surface and is lined in baize.
