A arts and crafts water jug by Loveridge & co of Wolverhampton. The design inspired by Japanese decorative arts as popularized by Dr Christopher Dresser. There is much speculation that this jug is by Dresser, however there is no record of him working at Loveridge, although he was working in Wolverhampton at the time.
Its elegant simplicity in form combined with the juxterposition of the copper and brass (as was popular at the time) make this a very appealing jug indeed.
