Dutch delft blue and white vase, late 17th century, decorated with scrolling flowers, underglaze blue mark GK possibly for Ghisbrecht Lambrechtse Krucyk or Crucyk  1666 at the "De Vergulde Boot" and "De Dessel in 1664,   height: 2 1/2in. 6.5cm.; condition: neck cut down, chips to base

Dutch, circa 1665

Interestingly, this vase has strong Iznik qualities in the sparing use of elongated foliage. The fine quality of the blue cobalt underglaze is evident in the richness of colour and its subtle variation. Although this vase no longer has its neck, it is none the less a fantastic example of early Dutch delft.
